Atiku Abubakar was a founding Member of the People's Democratic Party(PDP) and the running mate of Cheif Olusegun Obasanjo who won the 1999 election and their tenure lasted for 8years (1999-2007)...
In 2007 Atiku decamped and contested as the Presisdential Candidate of the Action Congress of Nigeria that same year. The election which was won by the late Umar Musa Yar'dua the Presidential candidate of the "PDP".
Consequently, Atiku saw a better opportunity in PDP as the party has prophesied that She will rule Nigeria for 50year Uninterrupted. He later contested as the Presidential Candidate of the PDP for the 2011 election .He lost at the Party Primary ,making Goodluck Jonathan the Flag bearer of the PDP during the General Election an election which He won .
On Sunday 2 February 2014, Atiku Abubakar decamped to APC (a party which came about as a result of the merger of ACN and few other Political Parties ) and His decamp letter has reached the secretariat of the PDP as at the time of this publication...
Alot of People have condemned the move by the Former Vice President to join the APC . They call him an inconsistent Wimp , a joker and a Man who is not fit to be called a Politician.Some People on the other hand have commended his courage and Wise decision to join the Camp of the "Progressives" and also nominated for the APC Presidential candidate.
Talking about his move the APC, Atiku Abubakar said everything he does is in the interest of Nigeria and for the Passion he has for the Forward Progression of the Nation.....
